Alijan Biswas’s date of birth is not known. He was a teacher by profession. He served as the headmaster of Dariapur Primary School. His wife is Khadija Begum, daughter of the late Abdul Jabbar Biswas, a resident of Majlispur village, Damurhuda upazila, Chuadanga district. Date of marriage – 20 Shraban 1358 Bengal. He performed the holy Hajj in 1996. Haji Alijan Biswas served as the president of Dayapur Uttarpara Jame Mosque for a long time while he was alive. He donated his own property for the development of the graveyard in the area. In addition, he often stood by selflessly to help the poor people. On a specific day every year, he would organize a feast for the local poor, helpless, destitute, minors and children. This was done since the time of his father, the late Hajeruddin Biswas. Since he grew up among brothers in the family, he was the only one who continued this tradition. Although he was not a registered freedom fighter, he played a major role in the independence struggle of Bangladesh. On April 10, 1971, the first government of Bangladesh was formed and the oath-taking ceremony of the newly formed government was organized in Mujibnagar Amrakanan. The cooperation of the Indian government was required for this arrangement. It was urgently necessary to inform the Indian government for the preparation and successful completion of the formalities of Mujibnagar. But at that time, no other means of communication was available in this border area except letters. No one was ready to take that letter for the sake of life. At the request of the locals including the then MNA Sahiuddin Biswas, two fearless independent-minded people took the responsibility of delivering this letter to the Indian government with a letter written by Meherpur SDO Mr. Toufiq Elahi. One of those two brave Bengalis was Alijan Biswas and the other was Dr. Shamsul Huda from the same village. This person, a witness to the history of Bengalis, died on July 26, 1998.

আলীজান বিশ্বাস এর জন্ম তারিখ জানা যায়নি। তিনি পেশায় শিক্ষক ছিলেন। দারিয়াপুর প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় এ প্রধান শিক্ষক হিসাবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। তার স্ত্রী চুয়াডাঙ্গা জেলার দামুড়হুদা উপজেলার মজলিসপুর গ্রাম নিবাসী মৃত আব্দুল জব্বার বিশ্বাসের কন্যা খাদিজা বেগম। বিবাহ তারিখ- ২০ শ্রাবন ১৩৫৮ বঙ্গাব্দ। তিনি ১৯৯৬ খ্রিষ্টাব্দে পবিত্র হজ পালন করেন। হাজী আলীজান বিশ্বাস জীবিত থাকা কালীন দীর্ঘদিন দায়িাপুর উত্তরপাড়া জামে মসজিদ এর সভাপতি পদে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। এলাকার কবরস্থানের উন্নয়নে নিজস্ব সম্পত্তি অনুদান দেন। এছাড়া তিনি প্রায়শঃ হতদরিদ্র মানুষের সহায়তার জন্য নিঃস্বার্থভাবে পাশে দাড়াতেন। প্রতি বছর নির্দিষ্ট একটি দিনে তিনি স্থানীয় ফকির-মিসকিন, অসহায়-হতদরিদ্র, নাবালক-শিশু দের উদ্দ্যেশে প্রীতিভোজ এর আয়োজন করতেন। এটা উনার পিতা মরহুম হাজেরুদ্দীন বিশ্বাস এর আমল থেকে হয়ে আসে। পরিবারে ভাইদের ভিতর বড় হওয়ায় একমাত্র তিনিই এই প্রথা চালু রেখেছিলেন। তিনি তালিকাভুক্ত মুক্তিযোদ্ধা না হলেও বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামে বড় ধরনের ভূমিকা রাখেন। ১৯৭১ সালে ১০এপ্রিল বাংলাদেশের প্রথম সরকার গঠন করা হয় এবং নবগঠিত সরকার এর শপথ অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয় মুজিবনগর আম্রকাননে । এই আয়োজনে ভারত সরকারের সহযোগিতা প্রয়োজন ছিল। মুজিবনগর এর আনুষ্ঠানিকতার প্রস্তুতি ও সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করার জন্য ভারত সরকারকে অবগত করানো জরুরীভাবে প্রয়োজন হয়ে পড়েছিল। কিন্তু তখনকার সময় এই সীমান্তবর্তী এলাকায় যোগাযোগের চিঠি ছাড়া অন্য কোন মাধ্যম পাওয়া যায়নি। জীবনের মায়ায় কোন ব্যাক্তি সেই চিঠি নিয়ে যেতেও প্রস্তুত হয়নি। তৎকালীন এম এন এ ছহিউদ্দীন বিশ্বাস সহ স্থানীয়দের অনুরোধে মেহেরপুর এসডিও জনাব তৌফিক এলাহির লিখিত চিঠি নিয়ে দুই অকুতভয় স্বাধীনচেতা মানুষ এই চিঠি ভারত সরকারের কাছে পৌছানোর দায়িত্ব নেন। সেই দুই বীর বাঙালীর একজন ছিলেন আলীজান বিশ্বাস এবং অপরজন একই গ্রামের ডাঃ শামসুল হুদা। বাঙালীর ইতিহাসের স্বাক্ষী এই ব্যাক্তি মৃত্যু বরণ করেন ২৬ জুলাই ১৯৯৮খৃষ্টাব্দ।
